Reporting from World Cup Watch Central.

The two top-rated teams in the world coming into the
World Cup have been eliminated. Argentina followed the
fate of France in bowing out in the group stage.
Argentina could muster only a draw with Sweden, 1-1,
and although England could do no better than a 0-0
draw with Nigeria, the results put Sweden and England
through.

The first match-ups for the round of 16 were also thus
determined. England will play Denmark and Sweden will
be the next challenge for Senegal.
