I remember when Johnny used to say "Virginia, can I be the man today"? Several years ago a study came out saying that men tend to be attracted by sweeter smells, like vanilla and cinnamon. So if you want to attract a man, it's not a bad idea to smell like a chocolate chip cookie. I got into an elevator with Johnny around that time and was immediately struck by a really agreeable aroma. I remarked to no one in particular about how good it smelled in the elevator. Johnny just smiled. It happened again a few days later. After I went on and on about how great it smelled in the elevator, he laughed and told me that it was him. He managed to do this in a way that was so light-hearted, self-deprecating and funny, no one in the elevator felt the slightest bit embarrassed. We just all laughed together for the rest of the ride. Johnny could laugh at the world and himself along with it. And he always did it in a way that included people in the joke. I remember one of his sayings: "We'll burn that bridge when we get to it."
